Another day in the park
These are from 3 separate hunts, but because most were found in one park, I am grouping them all together...I like the NYC token, and the Syracuse University Marching Band button...Lots of silver on that one.

Very hot, Humid hunt
Well, it was blazing hot, but the itch to dig was strong. My friend Tony and I went to a school yard we had not hit before. The spot has promise, but I know if there IS silver here, it is DEEP. The wheats came from 6"+. There is a wheat I missed in the group picture. It is the first cent in last pic.
Happy Hunting, and stay hydrated,

Clad is not bad...
Better than a hot poker in the eye... By the color and age, you can tell that there might have been some silver in the park we hunted in Constantia, NY, but no luck for me. The fertilizer chowed on these.

Nothing but clad in the local parks
Because of the increasing amount of hunters (lower detector prices), our local parks have been depleted of silver. You can hunt all day just to find one merc. This is all I found out this past weekend.

Found in a Local Park
The park we hunted in this past weekend has been pounded by many hunters with many different detectors, but it still gives up some goods from time to time. No Silver or great finds, but some clad at least... The musket ball came from an area settled in the late 1700s. Do you think it could be War of 1812??? Revolutionary??? Maybe, but I would think not.

Still Kicking & New Friend
I have been out hunting for the past number of weeks. Have not found anything worth posting. Looking for new spots and new hunting partners. Found a gentleman who lives in Clay and we have been out twice. Nice guy and retired, so as free as I am. Here are some pics of the area we went to last weekend... Wonderful scenery. old place, but no Silver to be found.

Last 2 weeks hunts
These are from 2 different parks that have been pounded since the 70s. Not bad for places that should be scarce of finds.

It has been a while
Wow! Have not been out since last fall really. Nowhere to go, no car, no hunting friends, bad health.
Finally got together with my regular hunting friend and hit a local park we thought was hunted out and filled in so much we were not gonna find much.
Boy were we surprised. I am still new to the Eqx 800. I downloaded the new F2 update which reset the machine and I was hunting with factory presets.
Not a fan of the new F2 update, or it could be I need more experience.
My buddy pulled 2 fish-scales, a few mercs, and a few barbers...7 coins in total.
This was my haul:

First real hunt of the year
Well, I started the week making some cash with my detector, hunting for property stakes. Took all of about 15 minutes to find them. Property owner had rented a detector (Ace 400) from Taylor Rental and was inches away from the markers, but he did not have a pinpointer to lock in on them. Easy money for me.
On Friday I met up with Ray and we hit a local park that has been pounded by many over the years, but it is so big, that it will NEVER be hunted out. I did manage a few cool bling items and a War Nickel.
Back of MENTER token:
I am learning more about the EQUINOX 800 as I use it...

Got out a couple of times
Boy am I feeling my age. My back and knees were killing me in the wet cold weather we have been experiencing the past few weekends. The Equinox 800 is going to take me some time to learn. it is almost like stepping backwards to an earlier machine with the Minelab depth and sound. I do not think I am really going to learn this machine until the Spring when the ground is drier and conditions are more favorable. Well, until then, I believe my season is over for now... Research and reading...Shall it keep me occupied.

Equinox 800 ordered
Well, the Equinox 800 with stock and 6" coils was ordered and has been delivered on Wednesday. Will try to pick it up Thursday afternoon, if not Friday morning. School takes up all my time Monday thru Thursday. Hope I can get a few good days to detect before the ground is rock hard. Will keep yous posted.

Approaching the Fall hunting season
Hopefully I will be back in business with a new detector in September. I am going for the Equinox 800, but if I cannot find one in stock, I will settle with the Makro Multi Kruzer.

Not gonna be much detecting till Fall
Still have not bought new detector yet. Still trying to decide between the recovery speed and depth of the Makro Multi Kruzer and the Minelab Equinox 800. Both are waterproof to 10M, but the Kruzer seems to have the better target separation and recovery speed. Will keep you informed on my choice.

It's Been a hard year
Been out a few times in the last month or so, but just have not found anything really exciting. The dry summer and my depression of late have not been productive for detecting. Our spots are drying up, and it is difficult to find new ones. I am considering knocking on doors and getting permissions to hunt private properties. My only other alternative is to do day trips. get up early in the morning, travel to parts unknown and hunt till dark before returning home.
We shall see what the future brings...

Fall Season is upon us
Fall is here, temps are cooling, and it is time to get back out there and dig up them sweet silver and gold finds... It has been getting harder for me each year, as old age is setting in slowly. I am also WAY out of shape this year. I was doing good for a while, then with the recent events of my school, I became depressed, and when I am depressed, I eat...

I have been cursed for life!
Well, I went and did it...
I have cursed myself for the rest of existence...
I saw the yellow shining and my heart skipped a beat, but as I leaned down to pick this up...
My stomach began to turn...
I have been cursed...
The Giant Mother of Rat Tokens!!!
This thing is about 2 1/2" in diameter
Oh mighty Detecting God...Have mercy on me,

Still alive, but not out much lately.
Between School, not having a vehicle, and life right now, I have not been out in a long while. Perhaps it is good to give it a rest for a while. Maybe it will bring back the thrill of the finds when I decide to return to digging. When the weather has been good, it has been too humid, otherwise it has been dark and looks like is going to rain.. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it don't. Ground is extremely dry at this time and I do not like digging in it anyway when it crumbles. Will keep you posted if I get back out again.
